DOCTORS
Dr Julie Berndt Dr. Berndt has been practicing veterinary medicine here since 1987. A native of Davenport, IA she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University. Dr. Berndt is married with two children. She enjoys following her children's participation in sports and 4H. In her spare time she enjoys horseback riding.
Dr Ken Ambrose Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Ambrose is a 1991 graduate of Iowa State University. After a short time in Milwaukee, he has been at MVPH since January 1992. His special interest is surgery and managing orthopedic conditions and fractures. He has five children and two dogs at home: Molly (Golden Retriever) and Ruby (Lab cross, stray). When needed Molly has served the animal community as a blood donor for transfusions.
Dr Roger Nelson Dr. Nelson is now enjoying semi-retirement. He is a native of Hills, MN. He has been at MVPH since 1977 following 7 years of mixed animal practice in Virginia and Cold Spring, MN. He is married with two grown children. Dr. Nelson has a dog named Mickey and a cat named Zippy. He enjoys spending his free time in the Black Hills of South Dakota, motorcycyling and snowmobiling.
Dr Leah Renne Dr. Renne grew up in Southwest Missouri, but quickly fell in love with Southern Minnesota while attending Gustavus Adolphus College. She received her DVM from the University of Minnesota, and practiced in La Crosse, Wisconsin before moving back to the Mankato area. In her spare time, she enjoys music, cycling, running and plenty of other outdoor activities.  She and her husband share their home with a Swiss Mountain  Dog, a rescued Lab-Basset mix, and two very opinionated cats.
Dr Cary Adams Dr. Adams is a native of Mason City, Iowa. He attended Iowa State University where he earned his Bachelor's, Master's, and D.V.M. degrees. After graduating from college, he spent a year in Virginia where he completed an internship in wildlife medicine and surgery at the Wildlife Center of Virginia. Dr. Adams worked in a small animal practice in Las Vegas, NV from 2005 to 2010 before moving to Mankato. His interests include small and exotic animal medicine and surgery. Dr. Adams shares his home with three dogs, two whippets and a shih tzu, and a corn snake. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors and spending time with his wife and daughter.
Dr Stacy Bethke Dr. Bethke grew up on a farm north of New Richland, MN. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls and completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Bethke was previously practicing in North Branch, MN and is very excited to come home to southern Minnesota. Her dog Teal was adopted as an adult dog from the Golden Valley Humane Society. When she’s not working Dr. Bethke enjoys running with Teal, reading, riding and showing horses with her family.
TECHNICIANS
Nicole Nicole graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelors degree in Veterinary Technology and Zoology in 2008.  She has three cats, Beezi, Mayko and Suri. She also has a bearded dragon and a dachshund. (All her pets have been rescues). In her free time she loves to spend time with her husband, family, pets and friends.
Holly T Holly is a graduate of the Medical Institute of Minnesota in Bloomington. She has been at MVPH since 2002 and is a Certified Veterinary Technician. She is originally from St. Clair. Holly and her husband have a son, Brody and a cat named Jack. In her free time she enjoys time with family and friends and outdoor activities.
Jenny Originally from Waterville, MN, Jenny joined MVPH following her graduation from Ridgewater College in 1999. She is a Certified Veterinary Technician and has a Golden Retriever named Ty. Ty is looking foward to being a blood donor for the hospital. In her free time Jenny can be found lifting weights at the gym and enjoys traveling with her husband.
Donna Originally from Mankato, Donna has been working at MVPH since High School, first as an attendant and since 1987 as a verterinary technician. She is married with two children, Lorna and Nathan. Donna enjoys outdoor activites, camping, and horseback riding with her family and friends. She has a rat terrier named Wishbone, two german wire-haried pointers named Gus and Idgie, five cats- Gunner, Panda, Stewy, Bear, and Gumball. She also has three horses- Buck, Tuff, and Ginger.
Rachel Rachel graduated from the Vet Tech program at the Minnesota School of Business in Shakopee, MN. She has been working at MVPH since December 2008. Rachel lives in Mankato with her 3 wonderful kitties, Frodo, Josie and Ziggy, three rats: Cheddar, Martin and Charlotte and her fiance. In her free time, Rachel enjoys being outside, hanging out with friends and family, reading and as always, inventing robots.
Kaylee Kaylee graduated with an associate's degree in the Veterinary Technology program at Minnesota School of Business in Shakopee, Mn in 2010. She has a cat named Tiger and a new puppy named Lexi. She enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends and traveling to new places and experiencing new adventures.
Sarah Sarah graduated from the Vet Tech program at Argosy in Eagan, MN. She started with MVPH in April 2010. She has lived on a hobby farm with elk, donkeys, goats, pot bellied pigs, alpacas, mini horses and cats since 1992 so she's been around animals her whole life. In her spare time she loves spending time with her daughter, being outdoors and enjoys traveling.
HOSPITAL MANAGER
Miriam Miriam graduated from the Medical Institute of Minnesota and worked as a technician at MVPH for seven years in the 1970's (at that time the Boerboom Pet Hospital). After a 20 year hiatus she returned as the office manager in 2001. Miriam is married with two daughters, two son-in-laws and grandchildren.  She has three cats, Hercules, Athena and Fortuna. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially her granchildren, traveling and bicycling.
RECEPTIONISTS
Holly J Holly came to MVPH on an internship from Minnesota School of Business in Richfield and has been with us since graduation in 1996. Originally from St. Peter, MN she has three cats, Elvis, Pricilla and Memphis, and a dog named Chili.
Allison Allison resides in St. James, MN and will be graduating in May 2008 with a degree in Animal Science at South Central College in North Mankato. Allison is a receptionist and enjoys being outdoors, playing softball and spending time with family, friends and pets. She has two dogs, six cats and a rabbit that she absolutely adores!
Jenee Jenee graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a BS degree in Community Health/Corporate Fitness. She is originally from Owatonna. She has two cats Baylee and Graycee. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Marilynn Marilynn was born and raised in Mankato. She attended college at MN. St. University, Mankato. She has 1 daughter and 3 grandchildren. Marilynn is a stained glass artist, she also enjoys gardening, motorcycle and horseback riding Marilynn has 2 dogs, Indy and Tucker and 2 horses.
